Chifferobe is adding a space at Marquee in Asheville!

New delivery of locally handmade wreaths, perfect for Spring with fresh-cut Pussy Willows.

It’s finally Spring and it’s time for new growth. And Chifferobe is growing! I am so excited to tell you that we have made the cut and will be opening an annex in a bright, cheerful space at Marquee, the new art and antique venue in Asheville. If you haven’t been to Marquee, you owe yourself a visit to this place. Marquee (https://marqueeasheville.com/) is located off Riverside in a brilliant new area of the River Arts District, anchored by Twelve Bones and The Wedge. It is also home to Sunnyside Traders, Rosabees, and a good coffee shop. In other words, I could easily live at Marquee when and if Robert Nicholas, the brains behind Marquee, adds apartments on top of the existing space!

The most wonderful part of this venture is that I will be working with my dear friend Julie Bresnan to stock the space. You might remember Julie’s house in Biltmore Forest which I featured in an earlier newsletter. Julie has amazing taste and style and has exquisitely decorated the many homes I have visited her in. She has closed her home in Charleston and will be bringing some of the pieces from that place overlooking the harbor and the Ravenel Bridge. Between us, we have so much great stuff and will have to restrain ourselves so as not to crowd the space As we sell all our stash, we have dreams of traveling far and wide to fill our space. I already have plans of traveling to Rhinebeck in the fall to acquire more beautiful things.

I will be joining some of my favorite dealers at Marquee. Kathleen Gibbs and her husband Jim, Corinne and Jose of Design Driven, and Janet Davas of Nest already have locations there, as do Sunnyside Traders and Togar rugs. Hats off to Robert Nicholas (formerly of Splurge) who has orchestrated Marquee and has created a space where only the most beautiful things are exhibited and sold. And there is even a bar on the premises! What more could you want?
